The ubiquitous "they" still say that start a new project is the most difficult. Once you get the ball, it is easier to stay on track, but this first step is really, really difficult. This represents any new project, including if you are a new student start the process of your college graduation.
Part of what constitutes the first step and entering the world of academic college is in preparation. The best way that you can be prepared is to take the good advice of students who have gone before you. Thus, coming from someone who made the direct experience of College, here are some tips that I wish I had known before starting my degree.
The first point on the course of preparation is your school supplies. No, we do not want to say your pencils and markers (is not kindergarten anymore, after all). One of the most important supplies for your academic career will be manuals related to your classes.
Usually, teachers distribute or e-mail a syllabus of class the first day of class. This decision will have a class information, such as a calendar, assignments or manuals you will use for the class. Take my opinion on this subject: wait not to the first day to buy or order your books. You are already behind! You can usually the teacher by email or find what manuals, you need through the Web site of your college. Order or purchase from the beginning, then you can start playback from the first day, it is assigned.
So, to summarize: not to postpone the purchase of your books. In fact, not procrastinate is a good rule in total. It may be tempting to wait until the last minute on your homework, read, and documents, especially when something more fun comes along. But take the time to do your work when it is attributed (or put in some work every night so that it is due) means that you must not cram, stress or pull start later down the line.
Other things fall to the wayside when the College gets in the way; in particular, sleep and good nutrition are at the top of this list. Do what you can get at least seven hours of sleep at night (even if eight is recommended). Well eating is too important, and you can in fact follow a grand scheme on the budget of the students. Rice, beans and fresh vegetables are your friends and quite affordable!
The last but not least, make sure that take advantage of all opportunities you have as a student. Your College will offer different experiences and fun as much as you will be able to take advantage of the later in life. Focus on your school work, but sure to have a little fun on the side.
The College is a fun and exciting, experience if you have done or this is your first time. In any event, taking some tips from people who have been there, done and learned of their own mistakes can be extremely useful for your own experience.
