Reward students for their hard work

Instructors see assignments written on an occasion to assess the progress and development of their students needs. It is often found that some students will complete the minimum required to get by in class, others will be finished enough to earn a maximum of possible points, and some students will far exceed the requirements for assignment. How reward you students who have worked hard and filled more than what was necessary? If you are working with a fixed set of points for your class assignments and additional credit is not available, which can longer you offer the student who has taken the initiative to Excel? In addition, what you think that students expect to receive their instructor?

When a student has to complete written assignment there are often several criteria, that they must take into account. The part contained the written assignment usually involves a theme or a topic that is related to an objective learning course. The student must demonstrate their knowledge and understanding, the course material. In addition, the instructor will establish their own expectations for the product of the work which may include a number of designated words, demonstrated with skills such as critical thinking ability and the inclusion of supporting sources. There are also of the policies and procedures must be followed and include an expectation of originality, formatting guidelines and requirements for the mechanics of the response. A point value is determined for the assignment, which sets a parameter for the desired outcome.

For a student that has errors in their presentation of surrender, he gives the instructor something to address and the student understands that they will not get the maximum possible points. A student who submits their assignment without content or mechanical error is likely to receive any credit or the total number of points. However, a student who exceeds all expectations and ends much more than what it will receive possible points total, assuming that there is no additional credit available. This calls into question an instructor to consider how they should reward a student who has excelled and determine if a reward is necessary. Some students may be self-motivated and do not seek recognition. Other students can become discouraged if the instructor did not recognize their additional effort.

Feedback is developed for student assignments instructor is provided the opportunity to assess not only the progress of their students, but also to connect with them. A student who has excelled in a form of recognition that can be used is the recognition by peers, which allows the student to give the example to follow. One of the most important forms of recognition, not it is provided or not provided by the student, is the use of individualized feedback that provides positive reinforcement. A student who demonstrates the advanced academic writing presents an excellent opportunity for the instructor to enter into a learned dialogue with them. The instructor may ask a reflective question that encourages communication and the student may also be offered additional resources, advanced.

For the instructor who has no additional points or extra credit to offer these students who exceed the requirements of the assignment, they have the power of their words. An instructor may use comments to offer support, recognition and praise. For students who seek this kind of recognition, it will be more in their sense of personal motivation to achieve peak performance. For students who hold no expectation for recognition and their performance on their own set of basic standards, this feedback will also be establishing positive conditions in class that supports their progress. When an instructor is able to exceed the needs of development with feedback for written assignments, they can demonstrate recognition of the advanced reward students and skills sets their hard work with feedback that communicates and encourages scholarly thought.
